March 20, Japan International Volunteer Center (JVC) has sent two staff members who have much experienced in emergency relief activities to Miyagi Prefecture with medical and daily items and distributed them at the heavily damaged towns and villages. At the same time, they are investigating what we should do to assist the activities of local NPOs and community groups. Relief items we brought in: 1. Medical items Antiseptic alcohol cotton Disposable gloves First aid kits etc. 2. Daily items (including those in preparation) Masks Drinkable water Blankets Nail clippers etc. Staff members we sent: Toshihiro Shimizu (Secretary General) Tomonori Shimoda (in charge of emergency relief) Both have experienced emergency relief activities at Niigata Cyuetsu earthquake, Sumatra-Andaman earthquake and tsunami, Pakistan earthquake, Indonesian java earthquake, etc. Enforcement The above activities are enforced in cooperation with Services for the Health in Asian and African Regions (SHARE), International Volunteer Center of Yamagata(IVY).
