The recent floods in the metro Atlanta area have affected hundreds of individuals and families across the region. With your help, we can begin to address the urgent and basic needs of these flood victims.
United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta is working with a disaster network of more than 560 partners to support the community’s first-responders. These partners include relief organizations that your donations help support, such as the American Red Cross and The Salvation Army. We are in constant communication with these organizations, and are providing assistance and coordination as needed.
Based on our involvement with disaster relief efforts following Hurricane Katrina and last year’s Atlanta tornadoes, we know that it often takes people up to a year or longer to fully recover from a disaster. Many families will be financially devastated and will need immediate and continuing support. That’s why it is so critical that, together, we plan for both the short- and long-term recovery of those affected.
Here’s how you can help.
Donate to the Disaster Relief Fund by:
• Calling United Way 2-1-1 by dialing 2-1-1 or 404.614.1000
• Giving online
• Designating to the Disaster Relief Fund through your workplace campaign, either as a pledge or a direct payment
• Mailing a check, made payable to United Way Disaster Relief Fund, to United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta, 100 Edgewood Avenue, N.E., Atlanta, GA 30303.
Volunteer to help those affected.
United Way is evaluating the volunteer needs of more than 1,900 nonprofits in our community. Contact United Way 2-1-1 for volunteer opportunities.
This page will be updated as new information becomes available. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the families of those affected by the recent floods in metro Atlanta. If you or your family are one of them, please call 2-1-1.
