Mission: The Waveland Public Relations Office partners with the Morrell Foundation:
To work with and empower local residents affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and to boost community morale;
To work with community partners to provide the needed manpower and equipment to effectively complete thousands of homes in our area, city infrastructure reconstruction, and grants for home materials from the Salvation Army, Red Cross and other National Organizations;
To support the network of volunteer groups from around the country to participate in the rebuilding of the Gulf Coast, focusing on Waveland and the Hancock County area;
And above all, to get families back into their homes and lives back to some sense of normalcy.

*There is no fee to help residents in need of recovery assistance.
*There is an $18/person/day fee for volunteers who would like to stay at the Waveland Volunteer Center (WVC), our Volunteer Housing Center. This covers food and utility costs of running the WVC. While at the WVC, volunteers are provided food, shelter, bathrooms, laundry facilities, beds, and work with experienced supervisors. The WVC has a capacity of 60 people.
