Mission: Mission to North America (MNA) serves PCA churches and
presbyteries as they advance God’s Kingdom in North America
by planting, growing, and multiplying biblically healthy
churches through the development of intentional evangelism
and outreach ministries.

MNA Disaster Response – Purpose

Mission to North America (MNA) is charged by the General
Assembly with coordinating the Presbyterian Church in America
(PCA) disaster response in the US and Canada. This vital mission
is accomplished through disaster preparedness awareness & training
in advance of disaster events and by providing support in response
to disaster events. Preparedness training is conducted regularly
through local and PCA-wide events.

MNA Disaster Response provides support to PCA churches in
disaster affected communities through a network of staff
and volunteer damage assessment teams, first response teams,
site managers, and key leaders. MNA recruits and mobilizes
volunteers, receives and distributes supplies and equipment,
brings awareness of specific needs, channels recovery funds,
focuses prayer and provides spiritual encouragement to our
PCA family and their communities.

FROM THE WEBSITE (LTEL 9/9/12):

MNA Disaster Response staff and volunteer first responders
are on the ground in affected areas of Mississippi and
Louisiana completing assessments with local church leaders
and forming a way-forward response strategy. For now,
the best way for you to respond is to provide a financial
gift to assist with the movement of our assessment team
and first responders, as well as to help church members
meet insurance deductibles and purchase construction
materials to stabilize damaged PCA member-owned homes.
MNA is currently ramping up relief operations at
long-running New Orleans based worksites (Katrina –
August ’05) and taking preliminary steps to open a new
staging area focused on relief efforts in LaPlace,
located in St. John the Baptist Parish, one of the hardest
hit communities.
