Mission: The mission’s ministry focus is intentionally multi-cultural and inter-denominational reaching across the two people groups – those we are helping recover and the volunteers who act as Pathfinder's hands and feet.

The major aspects of the mission are to:

Facilitate the rebuilding of the community
Empowering the residents to help themselves
Bringing resources from other churches

Promote spiritual restoration/encouragement
Evangelistic Outreach/Sharing the Gospel
Gathering events – Praise and Worship
Teaching obedience / Discipleship / Bible Studies
We are developing the scope of the mission incrementally. We are building partnerships with local and distant churches and para-church ministries. We are leveraging the network that we have built over the past five years to encourage volunteers to augment the work that the Lord has given us to do.

Notes:

We are working on putting the process together to build sheds for the Tornado survivors in the Pleasant Grove, AL area. We are working with Westmont BC and the Presbyterian Church Disaster Relief. It looks like other local churches will be involved soon. Robert and Sue Lumpkin have agreed to help run the shed project while Martie and I focus on Haiti. If you recall Robert and Sue have been strong supporters of Pathfinder Mission and ran the camp in Mississippi for us a time or two. We are going to start with 20 sheds and see where it goes from there. Rather than build the prefabs in Demotte this time, we will use Jim Bishop cabinets in Montgomery to cut the wooden parts and assemble the prefab pieces in Eclectic, AL, then build the sheds in Pleasant Grove at Westmont. Pastor C.B. Scott of Westmont agreed to host up to 18 volunteers at no charge ... that includes food .... Wow! For those of you who want to build some sheds ... I will keep you posted on the progress. Martie will coordinate the volunteers with Westmont.
