notes: Excerpt from email via Operation Blessing (May 26, 2011) - Then it was off to The Bridge, a youth ministry directed by Dan Mitchel, who is now using their facility that serves 2,500 youth on a monthly basis as a distribution center for residents. Today, they served hundreds of families as a steady stream of cars continued until after 8 p.m. The Bridge staff and volunteers talked with each resident as they lined up in their cars to identify what items they needed. I watched as residents arrived hurting and their countenance so low. But then, after spending a few moments getting some food, picking out bedding, diapers, hygiene items and loading up the trunk of their car, I saw smiles begin to spread across their faces and hugs being given to the volunteers. -- Residents needing help cleaning up their home and/or a blue roof installation can complete a work request with Operation Blessing by coming to the FEMA DRC located at First United Methodist Church 501 W Byers or The Bridge at 3405 S.
