Every March we send a medical mission team to serve at least five different congregations. Occasionally we send more than one team a year; in fact, in January of 2010, our team conducting a gospel meeting, VBS, work camp, and repairs on our group house returned to the States less than one day before the devastating earthquake. Our group house is less than a mile from Roberta’s house. Through it we can provide convenient, low-cost housing for short-term mission teams of up to 36 people. For individuals or congregations looking for a way to get involved in Haiti, child sponsorships are available at $30 a month. This amount allows Roberta to feed a child in the Nutrition Center. We also accept contributions to send the Nutrition Center children to school. Some schools have reopened and some have increased costs to compensate for re-building. We estimate the cost per month to send a child to school at $35. In addition, we continue to try to improve the working situation for Roberta herself with adequate salary, working funds, fuel & transportation expenses, and health care. The feeding program currently reaches 15 churches representing adults, young people and children in the church. We also feed a lot of people in our neighborhood and so many starving children by cooking. It’s a very nice and interesting program. It also brought so many people to the Church and the good thing is some of them get baptized. We pray that God keep this program and people continue to get fed.
