notes: From the public NYVOAD Member Directory: Organizational Structure Lutheran Disaster Response (LDR) is a collaborative ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS). Operating through a nationwide network of affiliates who are prepared and equipped to coordinate disaster response efforts, LDR accompanies individuals, families, and congregations in communities preparing for and responding to disasters. Disaster services are provided through four core components: hardship grants, spiritual & emotional care, volunteer coordination, and long-term recovery. Disaster Program LutheranCare, a faith-based organization, dedicated to providing innovative, quality programs and services, is the LDR affiliate for upstate New York. A representative group of trained, leadership volunteers from across the geography work to engage Lutheran congregations in preparedness activity within their communities, equipping them for disaster response when the needs arise.
