ACTS World Relief
February 9 at 8:58pm Report
A brief update as ACT World Relief as we continue to build and strengthen our presence here at Operation Hope for Haiti. Our 'head quarters' are officially across the street from the Hopitale Adventiste d'Haiti. The main base operates the ambulatory medical clinic, 4 mobile clinics that service thousands each days including numerous orphanages, volunteer area, food service area, and maintenance support that includes the hospital. We have formed some wonderful relationships with so many different relief groups and individuals that have joined the efforts here. May we continue to serve with joyful and humble hearts in God's glory each day.

ACTS and Operation Hope, an NGO of Haiti, have united in serving together. Dr. Eddy is the brother of Dr. Archer, the hospital medical director, where we began. ACTS, a long-time partner has fed 20,000 hot meals for hospital patients and refugees to date. ...

mission: Who we are?

Operation Hope for Haiti serves as an umbrella to provide essential recovery and rebuilding services to the country of Haiti. We will be providing financial support, medical support and professional services among others.
Mission of Operation Hope for Haiti:
To connect the community of South Florida to provide life saving relief supplies and support sustained, structured recovery efforts to help Haitian children and families devastated by the earthquake. As Haiti’s closest neighbor, we must demonstrate leadership in the long term response and stand in solidarity to ensure Haiti is kept on the radar screen for years.
The Operation Hope for Haiti Advisory Council is a coalition of community leaders who are unified in their commitment and passion to help Haiti. This group seeks to keep the community of South Florida engaged over the long-term in a structured and targeted way.
Through Operation Hope for Haiti and in partnership with World Vision, the community of Miami has been striving to keep Haiti on the radar screen and provide a sustained response since the four devastating hurricanes which hit the impoverished island nation in September 2008. Transitioning from immediate hurricane relief efforts, OHH was working to make an intentional, strategic difference in one of the deeply impacted rural areas. The focus was to enable community sustainability by stemming the risk of future flooding and supporting World Vision's holistic interventions around food, agriculture, economic development, education and health. Almost $300,000 had been raised by OHH towards this goal.
OHH is now re-directing all its efforts towards relief and recovery in the aftermath of one of the most catastrophic earthquakes of our lifetimes. The horrific human tragedy unfolding in Haiti is going to require a sustained response from our community, country and the world. OHH in partnership with World Vision is calling on all South Floridians to stand together in solidarity to provide immediate and long-term support to our devastated neighbors.
