NO FEE IS CHARGED to Newton County residents when they bring their household garbage, bulk waste and recyclables to Newton County Neighborhood Recycling Centers. Residents who do not presently carry a Newton County car tag should show some form of proof of residency. Recycling is voluntary. County residents are asked to recycle so that our community can continue to reduce the amount of waste going into our landfill. With your help, Newton County has reduced waste going into the landfill by 37.9% since 1990. Specialty Recycling At Landfill only (not available at centers) on first Saturday of each month, 8:00 a.m. to noon Electronics--Recycle computers, typewriters, cameras, fax machines, speakers, stereos, VCRs, DVD players, telephones, answering machines, cell phones, pagers, and calculators (anything electric or electronic). Now, the program also accepts televisions, batteries, and ink cartridges. Household Hazardous Wastes--Recycle paint and pesticides and aerosol cans. Latex and oil-based paints accepted.
