(BASED ON PRESS RELEASE) -- Deputy Director of the Territorial Emergency Management Coordinating Office (TEMCO) Jacinta Brown reports that the National next of Kin Registry (NOKR) has offered assistance to the territory to help re-unite families who have lost contact during the disaster.

Since 2004 NOKR has become a vital resource used globally and nationally by the National Guard and Emergency Agencies to look up Emergency Contact information for those displaced, missing or deceased.

Families can pre register themselves and potential victims. NOKR has been a listed resource in Hawaii since 2005.

Many of the potential victims may be registered in the NOKR system now.

Speaking to TEMCO, Cerney Mark of NOKR Washington, D.C. said, “I’m sure you’ve been inundated with calls from the public inquiring about family and friends. The public can register those who’ve they lost contact with and upload a secure photo in the NOKR system, this can be used by agencies to make a positive ID of victims.”

NOKR can also provide all emergency agencies in Samoa and those assisting TEMCO with access to the NOKR system immediately.
