Catholic Charities West Virginia (CCWVa) is a non-profit organization that provides many critical social services throughout West Virginia to those in need, regardless of their religious preference, race, creed, color, gender or disability. Consistent with the responsibility of the Catholic Church to do works of charity, CCWVa seeks to carry out charitable acts to eliminate the poverty and injustice that steals dignity from the lives of our neighbors.

Founded in 1931, CCWVa has become one of the largest social service providers in the state, serving thousands through programs that outreach to the unborn, children, parents, refugees, immigrants, elderly, disabled, victims of disaster and victims of poverty and injustice.

Reflecting the state’s geographic diversity, CCWVa is comprised of seven regions led by local staff and volunteers. Regional directors are empowered to seek support and launch new programs that better meet the needs of particular communities.

Catholic Charities West Virginia offers a wide variety of services and programs to the people of West Virginia who need our helping hand.

We assist children, adolescents, seniors, immigrants and refugees, victims of poverty and victims of disaster and emergency.

Our programs range from educational and resource services to direct aid in times of crisis. All of our services are life-giving and nurture the growth of the individual.

Disaster & Emergency Support

Catholic Charities West Virginia is also a statewide disaster response network. We have people stationed in all regions of the state prepared to respond to emergency and disaster situations (floods, fires, etc.).
