notes: Volunteers Needed Hurricane Ike Relief and Recovery Efforts In the aftermath of Hurricane Ike, most Volunteer Houston staff were temporarily stationed at the George R. Brown Convention Center to assist as needed with relief initiatives there and to direct potential volunteers to recovery efforts throughout the greater Houston area. As of Wednesday, 9/24/08, we resumed normal operations at our 3033 Chimney Rock headquarters and use of our main switchboard phone number: 713-965-0031. We are continuing to do our best to support the continuing post-hurricane relief and recovery efforts and keep volunteers informed of where and when their time and talents can be used to help those most impacted by Hurricane Ike. Volunteer inquiries or comments may be directed to the phone number listed above or to volunteerhouston@gmail.com. (Organizations wanting to recruit volunteers should refer to the contact information at the bottom of the website page.)
