Mission: Serving Those Impacted by Hurricane Gustav
As with Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005, Woman's Hospital is once again serving as a point of refuge for evacuated women and infants from the affected areas, providing life saving, critical healthcare services. To date, we are caring for 45 infants from New Orleans, Houma, Morgan City, and other communities in southeast Louisiana. Of the 45 infants, 17 were born here at Woman's Hospital after evacuating from the storm. These precious patients - the tiniest victims of Hurricane Gustav - along with 22 adult patients and their families have been welcomed as a part of our family and are receiving the care and support they need.

How can you help? There are two significant ways that you can provide needed assistance:

1. Make a donation to our Hurricane Relief Fund, which was established to assist in this effort. You may make your tax deductible donation online or via mail. If you prefer mail, please make your gift payable to Woman's Hospital and mail it to:

2. Donate new and unopened items (see list below) that are needed for our patients and their families. We cannot accept used items. When dropping off donated items, please do not bring them to the main hospital. Instead, go to the Materials Management building, located on the Connell's Drive side of the hospital campus. If you ship your donated items, please use the above address, with attention to Social Services.

Thank you for your interest and support. We feel honored to be able to provide the needed healthcare and support services to the women, infants, and families impacted by Hurricane Gustav. It is yet another way we are working to fulfill our simple but profound mission - to improve the lives of women and infants.
