Those with legal issues arising from severe storms, tornadoes and flooding that struck Wisconsin in June and who are unable to afford a lawyer can request assistance by dialing 877-947-5291, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Messages can be left at any time and will be answered within 48 hours. Callers should say they need flood-related legal assistance. Legal services available to qualifying individuals include: Assistance with issues concerning state and federal benefits. Assistance with life, medical and property insurance claims. Help with home repair contracts. Replacement of wills and other legal documents destroyed in the disaster. Assistance with consumer protection, remedies and procedures. Counseling on mortgage-foreclosure problems. Counseling on landlord/tenant problems.
