Mission: Catholic Social Services of the Miami Valley is a non-profit social service agency which began service to our community in 1921. CSSMV serves the following counties: Montgomery, Greene, Preble, Auglaize, Darke, Mercer, Miami, and Shelby. The Ohio agency maintains offices and service sites in the Greater Dayton area, Sidney and Piqua. Our mission is to serve and help empower individuals and families in need through social services based on Christian values and traditions.
The agency is assisting families of all economic backgrounds who are struggling with the many issues of life in today’s real world. Catholic Social Services of the Miami Valley is helping to address the difficult issues of domestic violence, abuse, divorce, child and senior care. Other agency services provided include pregnancy counseling, domestic and international adoption, infant foster care, child attachment therapy, refugee and immigrant services, individual and family counseling, parenting education, and respite care for caregivers of frail elderly persons.
The agency is stretching to meet the growing need for services to help families who are struggling, including many who are trying to build a life without public assistance. The majority of the 25,000 clients served by the agency live at or below a poverty level income.
