Nav Jagriti is a leading non-governmental organisation working in Bihar. The twin problems of floods and water logging have played a major role in the formation of Nav Jagriti.

The mission of Nav Jagriti is to capacitate and empower women in particular and poor people in general to fight for their rights and get them organised to fight for the issue of water logging. It also aims to bring the better living opportunities and basic amenities for the general mass in the flood prone and water logged area.

Nav Jagriti started its struggle against flood and water logging, which are quite common phenomenon for north Bihar. In the course of its interventions, Nav Jagriti realised the consequences of the situation and strategised to help the affected community through four streams of activities:
