notes: About Camden Vol. Fire Dept: Camden Vol. Fire Dept proudly protects Aprox. 2500 people living in an area of 5 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. Our dept. has aprox. 25 members. We operate 3 engines, a 2000 Pierce 1250 gpm pumper, a 1988 Pierce 1250 gpm pumper, a 1975 Ford 750 gpm reserve pumper, one tanker, a ladder service truck, and a rescue van. We currently have one station with plans for a second in the near future. Last year we responded to 83 emergency calls, and as of 3/13/01 we have responded to 13. We were recently donated an old house and we spent a Saturday afternoon training with live fire. It was a great learning experience for the old and new members.
