Services, Special Needs, Early Intervention for Special Needs Children available at Eliot Community Human Services

The Tri-City Early Intervention Program serves young children and their families who reside in Everett, Malden and Medford. The program provides comprehensive community based services to children from birth up to three years of age who are developmentally delayed, disabled or at risk due to premature birth, neonatal problems or environmental concerns. We also offer support and training to parents and caregivers.

Our program provides comprehensive transdisciplinary assessment and treatment services designed to provide maximum skill acquisition and facilitate accelerated growth in cognitive, motor, and behavioral competence. Our approach is family focused and parents play an active role in their child’s treatment. Services are provided at the program, in the child's home, and in other community settings.

Referrals can be made by families, obstetricians, pediatricians, other health care providers, insurers, and community agencies. Anyone who is concerned about a child can make a referral to Early Intervention. An assessment will be scheduled to determine a child’s eligibility. EI services are paid for by insurance companies with the Department of Public Health as the payer of last resort. There is also an annual fee based on family size and income.
