Special Event Planning/Marketing and Fundraising :

Be a part of planning fun and productive events. Opportunities are available to take on leadership and support roles for fundraising events. Positions include marketing and fundraising, planning and completion of tasks within deadlines, clerical and phone assistance, preparation of mailings, setup and take down on the day of the event, etc. Opportunities to help with securing event underwriting, auction items, and sponsorships may also be available. Volunteers see projects through from beginning to end, including the many details of major events. Our current project includes: Garfield’s Groovin Adventure: Approximately forty, 5-foot Garfield Statues will be designed and decorated by local artists, and placed along the Coast, from Oceanside to La Jolla from May – Sept. 2007 for the public to seek out and enjoy. Program logistics are modeled after successful statue programs in Chicago, (Cows), Washington D.C. (Donkeys and Elephants), and in St. Paul MN (Peanuts characters). * Volunteers must be 16-years old.
