The Farm Gleaning Program has worked to bring fresh fruits and vegetables to hungry citizens in Humboldt County for three years. This food recovery project accesses surplus produce from farms, orchards, and backyard gardens. Through the gracious efforts of our volunteer gleaners and the generosity of area farmers, we have distributed over 66,000 pounds of fresh produce to food bank clients since 2001. We invite you to join with us in the Gleaning Program by volunteering your time to aid our second harvest efforts and by supporting the farmers that donate to us.
