The Thrift Store, from which local residents received clothing and household goods for free or almost free for many years, is now just a slab. It seems difficult for faithful friends from around the country and from the local area to imagine, because we still receive large boxes of Thrift Store items delivered to our work site – three mobile trailers with just enough room for staff! The food pantry filled with food to feed the hungry is gone too. We have snack packs to help the homeless, but no space to do more right now. What we are doing, however, is significant. We help as many people and families as we can with their financial needs. There are very few agencies providing emergency assistance, so the need is great and the stories heart-wrenching. Currently the Mission is providing roughly $10,000 per month in financial assistance for the following: financial assistance for individuals and families for mortgage/rent/utility relief medications transportation assistance, and miscellaneous items information/referral services case management support
