Food Distribution, Food Pantry (Distributes to the Public) available at Lifebridge (formerly The Salem Mission)

notes: Harvest of Hope Food Pantry The majority of the 1300 families, single mothers and working parents who come to the food pantry depend on the Mission to provide food for their children. About 88% of the people who use our Food pantry are Salem residents. Many depend on the Mission’s resources to keep their housing, because they cannot afford to eat and pay rent. -> Harvest of Hope Food Pantry The majority of the 1300 families, single mothers and working parents who come to the food pantry depend on the Mission to provide food for their children. "Harvest of Hope" Food Pantry An emergency food pantry supplies grocery bags to those in the Salem area with homes but who are unable to stretch their food budgets. Open two days a week, families and individuals can get the makings of 6-9 full nutritious meals. We see a growing need for these services: each month over 1000 families and individuals in Salem and surrounding areas are served through the Food Pantry. The families can access the pantry one time weekly. In addition, holiday baskets are distributed with turkey and fixings at Thanksgiving time. The Pantry is part of the Mission's homeless prevention programs. The Pantry is funded in part by a grant from City of Salem Planning Dept./HUD.
