You can travel overseas, serve on one of our Mobile Dental Clinic units in the Pacific Northwest, volunteer in our offices or at a special event, or help sort and ship medical supplies around the world. With regard to your interest: It is a requirement that our disaster response teams be composed of pre-screened licensed/certified medical personnel with significant developing-nations experience. In addition, pre-screened volunteers are selected based on their fit with specific team requirements. Therefore, our first teams are always selected from known volunteers already on our Disaster Response Roster. Nonetheless, we encourage you to apply if you’re interested in volunteering with our organization in the future or later during this disaster. Sincerely, Disaster Response Department Medical Teams International ---------------------------------------- International volunteers: Work & children's ministry teams Work teams: Church, school, community and civic groups use their talents and skills on Medical Teams International work teams, traveling to places like Romania, Moldova, Mexico, Honduras and Serbia. Teams work on a variety of projects such as construction, concrete floors, adobe stoves, building latrines, general maintenance and clean water systems. Children’s ministry teams: Teams work with children at Bible clubs and camps. Build a team: The best way to become part of a work team is to assemble a group of people to serve with you. Contact our international volunteer coordinator, Eve Ford (800.959.4325 or 503.624.1000), to determine an appropriate location and project. Individuals may join an already assembled team, but the opportunities are less frequent.
