About Us

Mission Statement & Organization Purpose
Established in 1992 following Hurricane Andrew, the Terrebonne Readiness & Assistance Coalition (TRAC) is the longest, continuously operating community-based disaster relief/preparedness organization in the nation, a testament to its commitment to ongoing coordination and sustainability. A non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, TRAC TRAC strives to achieve its Mission through comprehensive Long-Term Disaster Recovery Services, Disaster Preparedness Education, Residential Mitigation Assistance, and Individual Support Services which include, but are not limited to, the following: Case Management, Client Advocacy, Construction Management, Housing Recovery, Sustainable Affordable Rural/Coastal Housing Development, and Volunteer Management.

The Mission of TRAC is to:
1. Provide assistance in rebuilding communities following a crisis or disaster, man-made or natural
2. Help clients navigate the recovery process & implement recovery plans;
3. Strengthen planning efforts & enhance preparation for future crises or disasters;
4. Empower people to engage in community organization activities.

TRAC also functions as the facilitator for BARR, the Regional Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster, Long-Term Recovery Committee, and Donation Network.
