We are a family of four. Myself, my wife, and our two babies Eileen 13 months and our little premmie Victoria 6 months. On August 28 of 2005 my wife Karen was 7 1/2 months pregnant. We loaded up the car and prepared to evacuate. We got about a block from the house and our car died. Karen's sister and her husband came and brought us to my mother-in-law's house along with two laundry baskets containing clothing, canned food, an outfit to bring the baby home from the hospital (in case Karen went into labor) and our wedding pictures (we were married April 9, 2005).
We evacuated from my mother-in-laws house to Georgia and back to her house. We stayed with my mother-in-law for a month (in her living room) because our home and car were completely destroyed. Karen had numerous complications with her pregnancy during this time. Eventually we found out that if we could get a ride to Mobile, AL we could get on the cruise ship (Holiday). A friend brought us over to Mobile and we were placed on the cruise ship on a Sunday. On Tuesday Karen went to the ship's physician and on Thursday was sent to a high risk OB-GYN and admitted to the hospital where they attempted to induce labor because she had severe preeclampsia.
On Friday, October 7 Eileen was born by emergency c-section weighing 5lbs 7ozs. We were moved back to the cruise ship after Karen and Eileen were released from the hospital. We stayed on the cruise ship for six more weeks until the week before Thanksgiving when we were moved to a FEMA mobile home. On Christmas Eve we found out that Karen was pregnant again. We were scared and excited.
Things seemed to be going ok until Karen had complication when she was 20 weeks pregnant. She was placed on bed rest for 3 weeks and things seemed to straighted out. On May 12th when Karen was 25 weeks pregnant she became ill and I rushed her to the emergency room. She was immediately sent to USA Children's and Women's Hospital in Mobile, AL because she had severe preeclampsia.
Her blood pressure was 214/113 and things didn't look good for her or the baby. They preformed an emergency c-section almost immediately on her arrival in Mobile. I had gone to bring Eileen to my sister-in-law. When I arrived at the hospital I was informed that I had a baby girl. We named her Victoria Lee.
She weighed 1lb 3ozs and was 11 1/2" long (the same as a Barbie). Little Vickie was in the NICU for 16 weeks. I ended up giving up my job in Biloxi so I could take a temporary job in Mobile and be near Vickie. We stayed at the Ronald McDonald House at $12 a night and tried to maintain things over in Mississippi because we still needed a place to live permanently.
Just before Vickie was released I got my job back in Biloxi and Karen and Eileen and I came back to get the mobile home ready. Vickie was released on September 1st on an APNEA monitor. We found mold in our home right after bringing her home. The floor is giving out as well. We have been informed that FEMA will be moving us but we have no clue where or when. We are trying to find a safe place to raise our babies.
Now we found that Karen has a bad hernia and she has an appointment with a surgeon on December 13,06 with possible surgery to follow. We could use any and all help especially with the holidays. Anything and everything is appreciated. Karen's appointment was rescheduled for the 14th. I also wanted to thank some of Santa's elves from Connecticut we received a box of ornaments and lights from. You never know where help might come from. Dayle and Leslie have been angels.
Also, the Bethel Lutheran Church and the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church have been so much help and C.C. has been a terrific help too. . Karen has been scheduled for surgery on December 22nd at 6am. The surgery went well and Karen's follow up is on January 3rd. She can't do any housework and childcare to amount to much until then.
Karen is doing good since her surgery. We took the babies to the doctor today for shots and Vickie has developed a cough which neither the insurance or Medicaid will cover the medicine for. A friend came thru and gave us help!! Thank-you friend!
We have found a mobile home to rent and will be moving February 24. We are so excited! HALLALEUJA!!! -> Moved old notes/needs LTel 6/8/08:

notes: We are a family of four.
-> We are a family of four.
Thank-you friend!

notes: We are a family of four. She was placed on bedrest for 3 weeks and things seemed to straighted out. We could use any and all help especially with the holidays. Anything and everything is appreciated. Karen's appointment was rescheduled for the 14th. I also wanted to thank some of Santa's elves from Connecticut we recieved a box of ornaments and lights from. You never know where help might come from. Dayle and Leslie have been angels. Also, the Bethel Lutheran Church and the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church have been so much helpand C.C. has been a terrific help too. . Karen has been scheduled for surgery on December 22nd at 6am.

notes: We are a family of four. She was placed on bedrest for 3 weeks and things seemed to straighted out. Now we found that Karen has a bad hernia and she has an appointment with a surgeon on December 13 with possible surgery to follow. We could use any and all help especially with the holidays. Anything and everything is appreciated.
