WATT is partnering with the Clay-Chalkville-Center Point Command Center and Morris Fire Dept. a 501(c)3 non profit and Southern Disaster Relief (headed by Christy Sharit) who are right in the thick of the hardest hit areas in Jefferson County, doing everything they can to help those in need. They are the groups who set up triage at the Winn-Dixie on Springville Rd. in Clay/Chalkv...ille, AL just after the storms hit.
They have now moved their command center to Clearview Baptist Church at 5271 Old Springville Rd, Pinson, AL 35126 These folks have been up for 48 hours now and they are exhausted...WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO HELP THEM ROUND OUT THEIR SCHEDULES AND GIVE THESE WORKERS RELIEF.
Please, if you live in the area of Clay/Chalkville/Pinson or anywhere near Jefferson County, go tp Clearview Baptist church (adress listed above) and HELP THEM OUT! JUST SHOW UP AT THE CHURCH IF YOU CAN, OR EMAIL SandraReaves @ gmail.com
We are all going to volunteer on Saturday and Sunday and we would love for as many of you, who are interested, to come with us! They desperately need food, Sandra said "real food" so I'm assuming some hot meals for storm victims. I am off on Friday and can go up Friday too, so please PLEASE, PLEASE Y'ALL COME WITH US AND LET'S USE THE HARD LESSONS WE'VE LEARNED TO HELP THEM RUN A SMOOTH OPERATION AND GET SOME FOLKS FED, CLOTHED, AND CARED FOR!
email us at info @ wearettown.org or comment here if you want to ride up with us this weekend and volunteer or if you wish to donate some food, adult diapers, or gift cards.
