Important Notice: SVAS is reminding people that if they are in the flood zone that they evacuate WITH their animals and NOT leave them behind. We are boarding pets at the NDSU extension center. People do not need to call ahead to drop off pets at extension center. If you have any questions please call Susan at 720-7203 or Kristine at 240-8794. The extension center is one mile south of Minot at 5400 Highway 83 S.
Pet owners are encouraged to bring food, medications that their pet is currently taking, collars, leashes, kennels, litter pans and litter, as well as some familiar items, (i.e. favorite blanket, favorite toys, chew toys). The NDSU extension center will be open from 8 am to 8 pm if you need assistance boarding pets.
Volunteers are needed to walk dogs and clean from 8 to 10 am or 3 to 5 pm. Due to high volume of animals volunteers must adhere to these times. To walk dogs, volunteers need to be 18 yrs old atleast, for safety purposes.
