The volunteers have essentially become their voice as we begin the task of reuniting lost animals and assisting those that have been displaced. We are a high volume shelter during normal times so we expect the next little while to be difficult. We are seeing an increase in those willing to foster but we lack the basic materials needed. I did get word late this afternoon that the power has been restored at our shelter but that phone lines are still having trouble. We had heavy rains today that exposed structural damage to our shelter that had not been noticed. The roof has damage and water is coming into our administrative areas. We hope that the damage is minor and will not prevent our shelter from housing animals.
