The Cullman Animal Shelter has people offering temp foster care for pets needing shelter as a result of the 4/11 Tornado's, but crates, kennels and dog houses are needed urgently.

Hi Christy,
It's far too late in the day for me to contact Candie, so will do tomorrow to confirm the need. What I'd like to know is if you guys are hooked into the main supply chain through the Humane Society. Once I confirm and verify the need for crates, kennels, dog houses any other supplies you might be Needing I can help if those supplies are local. If they are not local, it will take longer but I am certain other org's outside the area are willing to rally as there are a lot of out of state folks wanting to help.
Thanks so much for getting back to me and I will call you if the phone lines are still down when I try Candie in the a.m.
Blessings for all the losses,
Leslie Teltoe

Hi Leslie,
Thank you for responding. I am a volunteer at the Cullman Animal Shelter and serve as the shelter's adoption/foster coordinator. The shelter has been without power since the storms hit Wednesday making it impossible for them to make/receive calls or answer emails. The volunteers have essentially become their voice as we begin the task of reuniting lost animals and assisting those that have been displaced. We are a high volume shelter during normal times so we expect the next little while to be difficult. We are seeing an increase in those willing to foster but we lack the basic materials needed.
I did get word late this afternoon that the power has been restored at our shelter but that phone lines are still having trouble. We had heavy rains today that exposed structural damage to our shelter that had not been noticed. The roof has damage and water is coming into our administrative areas. We hope that the damage is minor and will not prevent our shelter from housing animals.
Candie Horsley is the office manager at the shelter and she can be reached between 8AM- 3:30 PM CST at (256)734-5448. If phone lines are still not working properly, you can contact me at (256)347-7884. Thank you for all that you do.

Greetings,
I saw the following plea for help on facebook:
Cullman Needs Help!! We need crates, pet carriers, and dog houses!!! Without these items, our foster homes will not be able to handle additional lost pets. We had a full shelter prior to the storms!! Any donations would be greatly appreciated! per christy_brett@att.net working at a shelter or vet office - not sure which.
Can you please provide the name of the facility or a contact person (or are you the contact person?) so that I can verify these needs?
I am in a position to direct them to a supply chain to meet their needs.
Thanks!
