Approximately one in ten U.S. households, more than 33 million
people, do not have access to enough food to meet their basic
needs. 13 million are children. The number of people living in
poverty has increased significantly. Hunger in America is not
just the homeless: it impacts our nation's cities and small
towns, our wealthy suburbs and our poorest rural counties. Hunger
impacts families with jobs and the elderly with medical needs.
This study supports the notion that hunger in America does not
discriminate

Hi Sue,
Please help me understand.
HIS is gone from the gulf? HIS is "you"? or is it a group?
You say in your email that "your" contact info is changing. But does that mean that HIS contact info should be changed in the database?
Also, while I'm looking at this, it says that you serve "nationwide". Can you give me an idea of what you do outside of your home territory? Or perhaps I should list you as working primarily in your home territory, but that you occasionally lend a hand in national level disasters?
1/14: Changed the address from Lenoir NC PO Box 3411 28645 to the one she requested. still no real answers as to what they actually do for out of region people. Here's her latest response and my response:
Hi Sue,
I made the changes:

Relative to your national level of activity, did you do
anything for the Southern California Wildfires? or
the Kansas Tornadoes? I'm just wondering whether you
address "all" national disasters, or whether you just
do "some", or what. I ask only in that I haven't noticed
your presence in these fairly large disasters, so I'm
wondering what you do for "out-of-region" disasters, or
maybe your out-of-region work is primarily in the gulf?

Hello Sue,
Due to the wildfire in CO, we are updating our CO information in general.
I noticed that your website is down, or maybe has moved? Can you provide a new website address for H.I.S.?
Thank You!

service agency that is dedicated to providing humanitarian aid
and in serving the poor and needy, thus strengthening our
communities, families and children.
The mission of His In Service is a two-fold plan to enhance the
quality of life for all members of the community, especially
the poor, needy, homeless and elderly. This plan also calls for
alleviating poverty.
We endeavor to provide life-sustaining help to meet the emotional,
spiritual and physical needs of the people we serve. Our hope is
that in doing so we can empower individuals to flourish and thus
provide love and hope in seemingly hopeless situations.
Serving the Poor, Needy and/or Disadvantaged:
H.I.S.-His In Service strives to respond to all people in need
regardless of race, religion, creed, or color. We endeavor to
cooperate with these people in all organizations, cultures,
religious entities, and ethnic backgrounds in our efforts to
bring relief and hope to those in need. We also welcome
cooperation and assistance from like- minded individuals,
businesses and organizations in helping the poor and
disadvantaged.
His In Service's goals in helping the needy include; but are
not limited to -Assisting in disaster relief efforts and
providing comfort to victims and others in need.
-Collecting and distributing humanitarian aid to needy communities
and peoples.
-Providing food and/or hot meals to the homeless and poor.
-Providing guidance to street children, drug addicts, gang members
and others at risk by providing information and contacts to places
that would further empower and assist them.
-Visiting and bringing supplies to the elderly and the shut-ins.
-Conveying a message of hope and love to those who are suffering.
Strengthening Communities, Families and Children:
By working to alleviate poverty and bring a message of hope, we can
bring a future to our children and help create positive values, and
a better environment, and we will hopefully see a healthier more
stable community.
H.I.S.-His In Service:
In the1980's His in Service began by collecting donations of food
and distributing them to hungry families in Colorado. We now have
the following objectives for all states;
1) To develop a strong board and recruit and train volunteers to
help with our fund raising events, collecting supplies and to help
us begin providing services as outlined in this mission.
2) Conduct fund raising campaigns and concentrating on Board Members, volunteers and selected individuals, corporations and foundations.
3) Create a comprehensive strategic plan to effectively expand His
In Service and carry out it's mission over the next 2 to 4 years.
4) Develop information packets to distribute to individuals for
other needed assistance and helps.
5) Begin providing services related to His In Service's mission.
6) To determine staffing needs and fill appropriate positions.
In the subsequent years, the fund raising program, volunteer
recruitment, and services to the community as stated in the mission
will expand.
Please see website for more information!
We are not just limited to NC but will be going National!!!
-> H.I.S.-His In Service is organized as a Christian based human
service agency that is dedicated to providing humanitarian aid
and in serving the poor and needy, thus strengthening our
communities, families and children.
