We have begun to receive requests from medical teams to coordinate the logistics of housing and transportation of teams to hospitals in Port-au-Prince. Our goal is to provide the most comfortable atmosphere for incoming medical staff by offering security, translators, drivers, kitchen and cleaning staff. Additionally, each room is outfitted with air-conditioning and a bathroom with running water.
In addition to placing medical teams in the hospitals within Port-au-Prince, we have developed a program in which doctors of different specialties will be holding classes and conferences for the Haitian medical personnel.

My name is Jonathan Ronayne and I am the Founding Director of HERnow
(www.hernow.org), a non-profit organization dedicated to recruiting,
placing and housing medical volunteers in Haiti. I’d like to
introduce my organization as I believe HERnow’s mission is relevant to
the HEAS group. At present, we have the ability to house and provide
medical logistics support to groups interested in cholera work or
general medical outreach. HERnow currently has the capacity to offer
short term stays in Port au Prince for medical professionals should
they need accommodation between deployments for cholera response,
etc.
Below, please find more details about the organization and the
property.
To inquire about volunteering or staying at our compound, please visit
our website http://www.hernow.org, or send me an email at
jonathan @ hernow.org.
We also encourage hospitals or clinics interested in receiving
additional medical personnel to contact us as well.
----
HERnow places medical teams within the hospitals and clinics
surrounding Port-au-Prince and specialize in providing care to those
in the tent cities, while emphasizing the importance of documenting
illnesses and
receiving follow up care. Additionally, our organization has had
experience with the current cholera epidemic, and has sent medical
teams to Saint Mark, Port-de-Paix, St. Louis du Nord, and La Point. We
are currently in the process of recruiting additional medical
personnel for the upcoming year.
Our secure property is conveniently located at Delmas 77, and we are
pleased to offer dorm-style bedrooms with running water, air-
conditioning and wireless internet. Additionally, each guest receives
a light breakfast, and dinner, Monday – Friday, and three meals a day
Saturday – Sunday. Transportation to/from the airport is included in
our daily rate.
