Mission: Operating principles

1) CCH does everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and we articulate our faith as the motivation for everything we do.

2) CCH’s strives to develop the capabilities of local Haitians to care for their own needs rather than non-Haitians providing services and support to the Haitian people. All cooperative projects must be able to sustain themselves through community ownership, revenue generation, maintenance and training.

Mission Statement

As a result of our faith in Christ, CCH is committed to improve the quality of life of the people of Haiti and to fulfill God’s commandment to love our neighbors as ourselves. CCH strives to build partnerships aimed at improving opportunities for the local population to make sufficient income for food, clean water, education, shelter and healthcare. CCH supports the goals and objectives of its partner community groups, who determine the priorities for the community’s development and support needs.
Community Coalition for Haiti is an interdenominational 501(c)(3) volunteer organization devoted to serving with the people of Haiti and surrounding areas to promote physical, educational, and economic development and faith in Jesus Christ.

The Silent Earthquake - Cholera Epidemic

A second earth shattering crisis has hit Haiti - Cholera. This invisible and deadly epidemic will spread country wide in the next few days. Community Coalition for Haiti is urgently seeking support to save the lives of countless children and families through our cholera and clean water programs. So far, the Ministry of Health has confirmed more than 18,000 people affected and 1,100 deaths….and this is unfortunately only the beginning unless we all act swiftly to stem the tide of this preventable disease. CCH is especially concerned with reaching displaced and extremely vulnerable children and families in the squalid camps and impoverished rural areas. We are working round the clock to bring essential cholera education, training, and treatment to these communities. Your help is needed now to save precious lives. Please donate today.

“Since January 12, we have been responding to the needs of earthquake-affected communities, raising the health care capacity of hospitals to educate, prevent and treat those who are sick, disabled, or hurting. CCH has treated over 17,000 people, shipped in over 32 tons of medical supplies and equipment, conducted numerous mobile clinics in rural areas, provided clean water to thousands, and taught rural communities how to help themselves through sustainable agriculture. CCH has been working in Haiti for over 20 years and we remain a strong force for sustainable Haitian drive change to date. As a testament to CCH’s work in healthcare prevention and education, we were one of the first sites for the ICDDR teams from Bangladesh to conduct cholera training. With your help, CCH has already opened the first Cholera and Primary Care Clinic in the Southeast.”

Karen H. Carr, Executive Director, CCH
