Regarding question about lafiteau...Samaritan's Purse has set up a CTC in conjunction with the Haitian academy that is ready when cases appear. So far it has only been used for cases from Bercy down the road until the land for a CTC in that area could be secured. There are currently CTCs in the following areas to serve the Haitian people, staffed largely by Haitian doctors and nurses. Samaritan's Purse is trying to supply them but donations greatly welcome.
Bercy ( serving Cabaret and Bercy): currently keeping 17 people it's first night. Total cases of acute, watery diarrhea in Bercy ( approx 38 and 2 deaths pre-CTC). MSPP medical director of Cabaret Centre de Sante collaborating to run CTC. Samples taken but unable to be received by National Lab bc of closure Friday and weekend.
Titanyen ( serving Sous Matelas, Titanyen, Lafiteau and Minotrie): ready with room for expansion - currently empty.
The Centre Hospitalier de l'Academie Haitienne/Hospital Center of the Haitian Academy is on the national highway north from Port-au-Prince just before the market at Titanyen. It is easy to spot because it is right there on the highway, across from the entrance to the village of Lafiteau, near the Moulins d'Haiti.
