The Larimer County Humane Society at 6317 Kyle Ave. in Fort Collins is taking in pets and animals smaller than goats. They plan to have emergency staff at the shelter overnight. Call 970-226-3647 extension 5 in advance of dropping off an animal. Pets can be dropped off, or an officer can be sent out to pick up animals as well.
The Longmont Humane Society at 9595 Nelson Rd. is also helping to take the pets of evacuees. The Dekai Animal Sanctuary in Greeley is offering to house horses and dogs at their shelter at 14253 Highway 293.
Residents who need a shelter for large animals should contact the Loveland Police Dispatch at 970-667-2151.
Both small and large animals have been rescued.
