We anticipate more animals today and are very close to capacity at Longmont Humane Society. Unfortunately we will not be able to accept surrenders from the general public while we accommodate these victims f... We have great needs for the following at this time: 1) Canned Cat food 2) Hill's Science Diet dry dog food 3) Monetary donations to offset the increased costs associated with extra staffing (we had staff throughout the night last night and will be extending our hours of service this evening). Large animals and livestock are being housed at Boulder County Fairgrounds. Please contact Boulder Valley Emergency Services or the fairgrounds if you believe you may have large animals there. We ARE accepting animals from families who have been displaced by the fire and our intake desk is open from 9AM-7PM to serve you. We have great needs for the following at this time: 1) Canned Cat food 2) Non-clumping kitty litter or pine pellets. 3) Monetary donations to offset the overtime costs associated with care and sheltering these animals. At this time we do NOT need dog food, thanks to everyone who has brought some by. We can also use the following: hand sanitizers, small/medium size dog/cat treats. canned tuna (in water), Kong dog toys (preferably black). If you are unable to get to LHS to drop off donations Camp Bow Wow has graciously offered to serve as a drop off point. You can view their Denver area locations at www.campbowwowusa.com.
