Clinics in Cap Haitien area:
Program Summary: Sonje Ayiti aids in providing mobile health clinics to the residents of Limonade. In partnership with visiting healthcare providers, medical students, and university student teams, SAO provides this mobile more accessible form of health care to the citizens of Limonade. Currently, the city of 45,000 people is served by only 2 physicians and 4 health workers. The clinics are able to see about 160 patients per day, which allows for increased treatment and prevention of health concerns in this underserved community. The cost to sponsor the needed medicines to provide this service is $600 per mobile clinic.
Sonje Ayiti advocates for positive, safe, and healthy practices within the Limonade community. The astounding rates of HIV infection and AIDS prevalence in Haiti make prevention and education a key issue to be addressed in all communities. SAO provides programming focused to provide Limonade citizens with the knowledge and skills to keep themselves and their loved ones safe. Risk aversion efforts include guest presentations, soccer tournament awareness campaigns, and educational youth geared activities at the annual festival and soccer tournament. Additionally, SAO works with the Ministry of Health and the United Nations to provide contraceptive resources and educational materials to the community.
MOM's Mary Olivia Mitchell’s Nonprofit Spiritual Foundation, Inc., seeks to promote the spirit of volunteerism through outreach services that foster economic and social stability to senior citizens, children and families living in poverty, violence, and/or addiction.
Haiti Cheri Harvest Life Ministries works in the Northeast, a remote village called Dolval. Haiti Cheri was founded to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the people of Haiti. The organization has established a foundational work in the remote village of Dolval, located in the Northeast Department of Haiti. We have four specific program units in order to establish an infrastructure in Dolval, which can then be spread to other parts of the country. The four program units are Ministry, Medical, Development, and Education.

SAO’s approach is guided by the recommendations of the MSPP, Pan American Health Organization, which encourages community-based entities to implement “effective social mobilization through health promotion messages as well as ensuring adequate access to potable water and sanitation.” Program participants were identified by local authorities, community, church leaders, and community based organizations. Through community partnerships and active on-the-ground recruitment facilitated by the community health promoters, community and home visits, mass mobilization activities SAO has been able to accomplish the following:
· Educate 62,222 people on how to purify water using chlorine kits or aquatabs
· Teach 42,926 people to properly wash their hands

cat_notes: -> Sept. 2010. Email from Gabrielle answering some of my questions.
Sonje Ayiti doesn't have a clinic, we focus on Health Promotion basically education, we reinforce the infrastructure of the local clinics by bringing Health Professionals providing medical/lab supplies, and capacity building trainings. We used t do mobile clinics in the pass, but we decide not to continue to provide those services except for eye and dental clinic when we have volunteer medical teams.
1. Here is Dr. Andre Myrtil's email: myrthildibu@yahoo.fr, however, he doesn't check it often.
2. I was referring to the MOH clinic and Vrancia
3. Yes, the name is correct
4. the MOH Clinic charge a minimal administrative fees, some still struggle to come up with it
5. Vrancia is on a sliding scale, but one thing I like about them they never turned patients away. That's why we support this clinic
Bring them on and I'll do my best to provide the necessary responses to you. Thanks a bunch!
