SOW A SEED HAITI RELIEF COLLECTIONS HAVE ARRIVED AND ARE BEING DISTRIBUTED IN PORT-AU-PRINCE
SAS Volunteers in Miami and Haiti Unite to Quickly Distribute Donations Collected to Haiti’s Earthquake Survivors
MIAMI (January 22, 2010) - After a week of collecting Haiti Relief donations provided by the South Florida community, Sow a Seed (SAS) immediately took action to transport and distribute the supplies to Haiti’s earthquake survivors on Thursday, January 21, 2010. A plane, sponsored by Fed Ex, successfully airlifted seven pallets of much needed medical and hygienic supplies to Port-au-Prince where SAS Haiti volunteers waited on ground to unload the plane, cleared supplies and load up trucks to distribute to various hospitals and orphanages. A second delivery with other medical supplies and food is scheduled for the weekend.
Since SAS was informed that it would take another week to have the supplies delivered via its non-profit organization partners, SAS sought immediate assistance with ANNDEX who scheduled pickups from drop-off locations and the warehouse in Miami and partnered with Fed Ex to carry them to Haiti. SAS Haiti team had immediate resources to distribute the supplies directly to the needy. This first delivery was successful.
The water that was collected was delivered to NOPIN Long Distance who is also supporting a fundraising concert tomorrow to raise money for more water, the source of life to distribute to Haiti

Claudia (02.08.10, 11:56 AM): MSG TO MICHAEL -
Hi, your info was passed onto me at the airport in Haiti by a group of doctors that you had been working with. They informed me that you were Geo -tagging all orphanages. I was at the airport picking up cargo from an airplane to distribute at various hospitals and orphanages for Sow a Seed (SAS). I am a Haitian American and founder of SAS (www.sowaseedonline.org or http://www.facebook.com/pages/SowaSeed/257617605011?ref=ts), a non profit org based in miami dedicated to aiding orphanages in Haiti. We have a local team in Haiti that have been working endlessly to help many orphanages. From what I understood from the doctors, I believe we could greatly benefit from each other with the information we both have. I would love to meet you to elaborate more on what we do and how we can collaborate. I have tried to contact you by email, however only receive an automated message. I am here for a couple of days and my cell in Haiti is 37012221. Please call or email me your contact info at info@sowaseedonline.org. Thank you for all your great effort and work in Haiti. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Claudia -> 6/2/10 LPar:

Claudia

Claudia

Sow a Seed is a non-profit organization created by a group of young professionals based in Miami and Haiti. SAS Haiti Project Leader Dayana Apaid facilitates the process on the ground with the help of Michel Dominique (ANNDEX), Clyde Doura, Nadim Alkhal, Youri Boulos, Dimitri Boulos, Gennaro Salimbene, Chris Doura, Karim George and many others. The South Florida SAS team includes SAS founder Claudia Apaid and Logistics Leader Sandrine Alkhal with the assistance of many young South Floridians such as high school and college students who work endlessly on collecting donations and packing boxes.
SAS believes in hope. With the continued assistance of donors, volunteers, charitable organizations, churches and businesses, Sow a Seed and donors will continue in the mission to rebuild the lives of Haiti’s earthquake survivors.

Claudia -> 5:30 pm PST 2/8/10 LTel: Left msg. stateside no. for Claudia, also emailed to coordinate critical needs. These folks are specifically serving orphanages and we need to collaborate. I think they can serve Foyers Orphanage for their food/water/shelter and medical supply needs, altho Michael is going to "try to get there 2/9/10". Michael has not been responsive to Claudia in her attempts to reach him.
