Mission: ABOUT US FROM THE WEBSITE:

Due to the fact that there are nearly 200,000 orphans in Haiti, there is a real need for well-run Christian orphanages that provide high quality childcare. We have recently leased a very large home in Port-au-Prince in which to operate our orphanage.

WEBSITE UPDATES:

January 26th, 2010

Five children from the CTOMA orphanage are home, safe, loved, and in their new homes tonight. They're adjusting well to their new homes and enjoying the attention of their brothers, sisters, and parents. There has been no shortage of excitement as our family have taken several days now to bond and reflect on this amazing journey. Through the 3 years of our adoption process there were many sleepless nights of prayer, and some frustration, as we wondered what God's plan was for us. Wondering in fact if the day would ever arrive that we would bring our beautiful daughter home. If God wanted, He could have brought her home in a matter of days, week, months. But He chose the most significant time He could; one we could never have imagined. And so we marvel in His magnificance, still without comprehending the significance of all his decisions, and we glorify His name. So now we take the opportunity to reflect on his commandments to us; Love the Lord with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind; Love your neighbor as youself; and go and make disciples. Mandy and I have been blessed with finally uniting with our daughter Maya Esther, and now many years of opportunity lie ahead for Haiti. We thank each of you that are finding your way to serve our neighbor's need.

IMMEDIATE POULTER UPDATE! January 19th, 2010

The Matt and Mandy Poulter have arrived back from Haiti with the 5 children who were in the adoption process with our charity in Haiti, CTOMA Haiti. Matt and Mandy have brought back Maya and 4 other children who are safe and being flown to Pella, Iowa to be with their parents. We are thankful to God for His provision for their safety. Please keep sending funds. We have just received shipping for a 40,000 lb container of tarps that can be used for shelter. They are set to arrive soon. Please donate to the address on our website. All funds, 100% will go into the relief supplies. Thank you, Karen Hall

Update 1:00 AM, January 17, 2010

Matt and Mandy Poulter will fly to the Dominican Republic today, Sunday. They will meet with Robin Roberts of ABC News/Nightline and travel by helicopter to the border of Haiti. They will then travel by truck to Port Au Prince and go to our orphanage. They will be attempting to bring all 9 of our children back to the United States at the earliest opportunity. Watch for this news on ABC. Matt is a CTOMA Board Member, and he is Director of Haiti Operations for our charity. He serves without any compensation. Please pray for the success of this effort to bring the children to safety.

Update 7:30 PM January 14, 2010

Robin Roberts of the ABC news team found our orphans just a few hours ago. The story will be followed on ABC until the children in our orphanage are able to come to their forever families. Thank you all for your prayers for their safety.

BREAKING NEWS 4:00 PM Janurary-14-10

NEWS! A NIGHTLINE NEWS CREW HAS FOUND OUR ORPHANAGE IN PORT AU PRINCE AND ALL 9 OF OUR ORPHANS ARE FINE. THEY WERE ON THE SECOND STORY OF OUR ORPHANAGE WHEN THE QUAKE HIT AND THEY WERE ALL ABLE TO RUN OUTSIDE TO SAFETY. THEY ARE NOW SLEEPING ON THE GROUND OUTSIDE BUT ARE UNHURT. PRAISE GOD. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND CONTRIBUTIONS. WE PLEDGE TO MAKE EVERY DOLLAR COUNT FOR HAITI. Karen Hall

CTOMA is looking for warehouse space right now here in B/CS. We already have 3 of them but they are in different cities. We are expecting many donations. I have received approximately 30 phone calls today, and many emails.

UPDATE ON HAITI'S SITUATION - January 26th, 2010

News of the Church of God in Sarthe. We have heard from secondhand information that the churh has fallen in the earthquake. There is no news of who might have been in the building and the Pastor and members. We are praying that they were not there when it happened.

We do not have a medical clinic, the building is crushed and as far as we know it was closed and nobody was working there at that time. I am assuming since the church fell, our playground is heavily damaged. There are no plans to rebuild at this time. Relief efforts are taking first place in all our thoughts.

Please read the updates from Matt and Mandy Poulter at the top of the page on their family and the children that they rescued.

The country of Haiti is still struggling. From my information I have received, over 250,000 Haitians from Port Au Prince have voluntarily left the city to go to the countryside. This will bring problems for those in the farming areas and small villages which were just getting by.

The Capitol buildings are destroyed. The Presidential Palace is unable to be used and so is the Parliament building. The President of Haiti is working at this time to get a building ready for his headquarters. At this time, he is working out of the police station. There are calls for the government of Haiti to be more visible and take a leadership role immediately. This might not happen.

The country situation is: At least 3 million or more homeless and displaced. 250,000 to 350,000 children in child slavery in Haiti. These are taken and hidden as household slaves. There is a need to immunize at least 600,000 children for childhood communicable diseases. There are 4,000 Americans missing and unaccounted for in Haiti at this time. Hopefully they will be located. This is understandable. The Americans were a large presence in aid to Haiti before the earthquake.
