Bay St. Louis, MS 39520
June 2010, TF: Their website references several worksites, including Rwanda.
Here are the ones that talk to the gulf:
It's not clear if they are still operating worksites in the gulf, except for churching services. Note that I found this reference to a ministry called "Committed Relief":
It talks to a history of moving around addressing disasters for a year or two "onsite". Not sure how that relates to this Calvary Church site in the gulf.
1. What can you expect to do at CCR?
We start our days early. First shifts for breakfast prep begin at
5:30 AM. Other opportunities for serving in the food line,
maintenance, camp care, home demo/restoration begin from 6:30 AM ?
8:00 AM. There is also an evening shift from 5:00 PM ? 2:00 AM.
Work days can be from 8 ? 10 hours and can often be physically
demanding. You will be on your feet a lot.
2. How many members comprise a team?
We can accommodate up to 40 on the site. Each team should be made
up of at least 5 people. The average number of the teams that we
are scheduling is 15. For churches trying to book more than 15 we
are encouraging them to spread there people out over multiple weeks.
Each team must have a team leader. This will allow each church to
lead and develop the teams adequately on ground. Each group leader
is responsible for communicating with the Camp Host for a daily
schedule. There is a need for worship leaders as well, so we are
asking each team to do there best to bring a worship leader along.
3. Can the team be mixed (men and women)?
Yes, both men and women are encouraged to come. Along with assisting
in the camps kitchen, moderate clean up of homes that are still
standing, many of the women are being used to reach out to the mothers
and children that are coming to the camp to eat.
4. Will the team assignments be restricted to the command center for
now?
5. Who and what determines placement of team members to a specific
job?
6. What are the team leader's responsibilities?
1. Maintaining group communication, health and needs
2. Communicating with those that are working at the command center
3. Gathering group for prayer, and possibly devotions, as well as
gathering them for larger meeting that may develop through the week.
7. Who should act as team leaders?
8. How long will CCCR be in the South?
CCR has a long term agreement with the city of Bay St. Louis to stay
as long as our services our needed. We continue to operate out of a
temporary facility but are open to a more permanent operation center.
Teams traveling to the area are required to stay for a week. To help
with travel logistics on the ground, we are asking teams to arrive
and depart on Mondays or arrive and depart on Saturdays.

in planning out the week, while your team is there.
Each team must have a leader from their home church on grounds to
oversee all activities that involve their church. The trip lengths
are one week at a time from Monday to Monday.
Ministry Opportunities:
Food Ministry
Personal Evangelism
Cleaning out houses and yards
Chain Sawing Trees
Chaplaincy
Construction
We ask that each team member be flexible with the needs of the
ministry and especially the community. Things change from week to
week and our desire is to serve the city and their needs as well
as attempt to accommodate your church's ministry.
4. Will the team assignments be restricted to the command center for
now?
The teams are asked to receive direction from the Camp Host and
Construction Leader...to maintain the work we have committed to do
for the city each week.
5. Who and what determines placement of team members to a specific
job?
The schedules as well as the atmosphere are changing from day to day,
and the desire is to place people with certain talents in the areas
that compliment them. But at times there may be needs to fill other
spots; we are continually trying to maintain flexibility.
6. What are the team leader's responsibilities?
The team leader responsibilities consist of the following:
1. Maintaining group communication, health and needs
2. Communicating with those that are working at the command center
3. Gathering group for prayer, and possibly devotions, as well as
gathering them for larger meeting that may develop through the week.
7. Who should act as team leaders?
Because of the nature of the ministry we are asking churches to send
leaders that either serve in a pastoral, elder, or head/assistant of
a ministry role. This ensures they will be mature enough to develop,
maintain and lead their own teams.
8. How long will CCCR be in the South?
CCR has a long term agreement with the city of Bay St. Louis to stay
as long as our services our needed. We continue to operate out of a
temporary facility but are open to a more permanent operation center.
Teams traveling to the area are required to stay for a week. To help
with travel logistics on the ground, we are asking teams to arrive
and depart on Mondays or arrive and depart on Saturdays.

5. Who and what determines placement of team members to a specific job?
The schedules as well as the atmosphere are changing from day to day, and the desire is to place people with certain talents in the areas that compliment them. But at times there may be needs to fill other spots; we are continually trying to maintain flexibility.
6. What are the team leader's responsibilities?
The team leader responsibilities consist of the following:
1. Maintaining group communication, health and needs
2. Communicating with those that are working at the command center
3. Gathering group for prayer, and possibly devotions, as well as gathering them for larger meeting that may develop through the week.
7. Who should act as team leaders?
Because of the nature of the ministry we are asking churches to send leaders that either serve in a pastoral, elder, or head/assistant of a ministry role. This ensures they will be mature enough to develop, maintain and lead their own teams.
8. How long will CCCR be in the South?
CCR has a long term agreement with the city of Bay St. Louis to stay as long as our services our needed. We continue to operate out of a temporaty facility but are open to a more permanent operation center. Teams traveling to the area are required to stay for a week. To help with travel logistics on the ground, we are asking teams to arrive and depart on Mondays or arrive and depart on Saturdays.
