Lazarus House Ministries provides the broadest continuum of services to those in need in our area. Our guests are empowered to overcome poverty and crisis, to become more productive members of the community.
Pickups in Dracut, Haverhill, Lawrence, Methuen, N.Andover, N.Reading, Tewksbury & Southern N.H.
We help people take charge of their lives, rebuild their families and move beyond poverty, out of crisis and into the mainstream.
Since opening its doors as a temporary homeless shelter in 1983, Lazarus House Ministries has been fighting poverty from its base in Lawrence, MA, one of the poorest areas in the country, and the poorest in New England. Over the years our supporters have responded to the needs of this community by providing the financial support to expand our programs to provide the necessary services that allow us to provide comprehensive solutions that positively impact more and more people in need.
Lazarus House is in need of diapers and toiletry items, especially shampoo. If you can provide these, please call Ken Campbell at 978-269-5208 or drop them off at 412 Hampshire Street in Lawrence.
Along with the faithful generosity of many, our ministry helps sustain itselt through our three thrift stores: The Good Shepherd Thrift Store, St. Martin of Tours Thrift Store and St. Frances & St. Clare Thrift Store.
These hubs of activity provide an incredible opportunity to strenghten the neighborhoods where they exist, provide for the needs of our shoppers and allow us to provide for those who have no other means of availing themselves of clothing, household items, and just as important, camarderie and friendship.
For those who cannot afford to purchase items, such as victims of arson or floods, and for those who are making the transition from homelessness, items are provided free of charge.
Items that are donated must be in good, working condition and may be dropped off at anyone of our thrift store locations Monday - Saturday, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. (excluding holidays).
For items that must be picked up, please call Micki LeBlanc, Thrift Stores Coordinator, at 978-686-0441 to arrange details.
*Please note due to liability issues, we are not allowed to accept baby furniture, including car seats.
Food & Paper Product donations may be dropped off at the Lazarus House Shelter, 48 Holly Street in Lawrence. The shelter is open 24/7.
Auto & Truck donations may be arranged by calling Mary Schank at 978-269-5204, Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
For other donation inquiries, call Micki LeBlanc, Thrift Stores Coordinator, at 978-686-0441.
