WV MEN DISASTER RELIEF

As you have seen on the news the southern part of West Virginia was hit very hard with flash flooding this weekend. The AB Men of West Virginia and their Disaster Relief teams will be heading that way as soon as they get their assignments from VOAD today.

Their advance team has already made a drive through assessment and the needs are great. Your help will make a tremendous difference to those who have lost much in this flood event.

NEEDS –
• Volunteers to work on clean ups! Probable deployment on Wednesday May 13
and again on Monday May 18, Need people willing to muck out homes and other
basic clean up duties. Central outpost and deployment station to be determined
later today or Tuesday.

• Cleaning up kits, bucket, sponges, mop, broom, bleach, rubber gloves,
cleaning products, disinfectant, liquid soap (DAWN) , 33 gal heavy duty trash
bags,

• Basic supplies bottled water, paper towels, toilet paper, diapers, toiletries in zip lock bag include soap, wash cloth, hand towel, toothpaste, tooth brush, deodorant, shampoo, comb or brush, wipes

• Take items to the Connelly Memorial Baptist Church in Delbarton, WV.

• Directions: Rt. 119 South to Belo and Rt. 65 South to Delbarton. Church is on
the left in the middle of town (90 minutes from Charleston).

• They are a Red Cross site and have already served over 500 meals.

• Money – funds may be given through the OGHS directed giving for “WV Flood
Relief”. These funds remain in WV and assist our disaster relief efforts.

• Prayer – for those affected by the floods; for those working to help; for the
churches in the area as they seek to be the visible, tangible presence of Christ.
