We are providing free veterinary care to animals in need at RSPCA facilities. We are also offering financial assistance to cover expenses provided by other vets, for treatment of bushfire affected animals. For information about veterinary financial assistance only, phone 03 9224 2251 or 0405 015 794 during 8am - 6pm. For all other enquiries please phone 03 9224 2222.
Our Inspectors are working with various government departments to provide emergency care to wildlife, companion animals and livestock.
We are providing temporary accommodation to animals at our Shelters across Victoria. If your pet needs emergency accommodation - please phone 03 9224 2222.
The RSPCA will be working to reunite lost pets with their families.

If you have the capability to transport and animal that you have found from the bushfires please take it to one of the following RSPCA shelters:

We are delivering emergency pet food to relief centres across Victoria including food donated by Hill's Pet Nutrition. If you wish to donate items such as pet food, bedding, leads and bowls you can deliver these to your local RSPCA.
To support our emergency relief effort in other ways, please complete our assistance form detailing the the support you can offer. If we can accept your generous offer, we will contact you soon. Please note that if you are from interstate, you will need to arrange delivery of any items to Victoria.
Thank you to everyone who has offered their residential homes as temporary accommodation. We now have enough private residents to assist us, if needed.
We are in desperate need of blankets, if you can donate any blankets please deliver them to your local RSPCA.
There is a big need for supermarket 'green' bags. We are coordinating care packs and need these to bundle up items to hand out to families in need. If you can donate such items, please deliver them to RSPCA in Burwood East.
We are also in need of temporary fencing. If you are in a position to donate temporary fencing to assist with the management of animals, please contact us directly on 03 9224 2219.
Please note: If you are from the Bendigo area, our RSPCA Bendigo adoption centre has been closed. This will increase our capacity to provide emergency assistance to animals affected by the bushfires.

Volunteers Needed
The Wangaratta RSPCA could not run without the dedicated volunteers that come in regularly to help around the place. If you are over 15 and think you could help out with caring for the animal, customer service or just bring in morning tea once a week please contact the office on (03) 5722 2874 or stop in at 1 Connell Street, just off Newman Street, and speak to a member of our staff.

About Wangaratta
RSPCA Wangaratta shelter operated from the leased Council pound until 2000 when its own premises was purchased. The shelter and pound have since been extensively upgraded. The local RSPCA shelter provides care for more than 1,200 unwanted and stray animals each year.
RSPCA Inspectors within the region attend cruelty complaints received from the public. RSPCA Victoria receives more than 9,700 cruelty complaints each year and 46% are from regional Victoria.
Wangaratta Opportunity Shop
RSPCA has an Opportunity Shop in Wangaratta where all funds raised help to support the local shelter and animal welfare services within the local community.
