· Welcome & Introductions

o Approval of LALTRC by majority: The mission of the Linn Area Long Term Recovery Coalition is to provide collaborative leadership in order to strengthen area-wide ongoing disaster coordination in the affected areas. The LALTRC will share information, advocate for the most vulnerable, simplify access to services, and jointly resolve disaster caused human recovery needs.
o Review and approval of LALTRC bylaws by majority.
o Selection of officers by majority:
§ Chair: Leslie Wright
§ Vice-chair: Jane Drapeaux
§ Secretary: Ann Hearn
§ Treasurer: TBA at next meeting. Karla Tweedt-Ball will check with the GCRCF board to see if this position can be filled by GCRCF staff. The treasurer will manage grant money and will not mediate public fundraising at all.
o Subcommittee descriptions were lifted from the VOAD packet and are simply rough draft versions. Once each subcommittee forms, they will decide on their own description and goals.
· Meeting Schedule
o LALTR Steering Committee will meet regularly on Thursday mornings at 7:30 AM in room 125 of the Emergency Operations Center at Kirkwood beginning Thursday July 17, 2008.
o The larger LALTRC will meet at 8:30 AM on Thursday July 24, 2008 in room 125 of the Emergency Operations Center at Kirkwood following the Steering Committee meeting.
§ Please be able to report on the happenings at the agency you represent.
§ We will try to have a list of arranged training sessions by then
§ Each agency represented will be asked to identify which subcommittee they want to serve on.
o We should also try to have a case management meeting next week
§ Select a model for all case management
§ Identify houses that need case management
§ Some houses already have other people handling their case management. These people should be invited to attend our training sessions to instill case management unity.
§ CRWC should be contacted so they can come in first to assess the houses and direct our case management.

o Crisis Counseling: Cindy
o Spiritual and Emotional Care: Brooke

o Communication: Ann Hearn and Amy Grunewaldt (will be the link between Case management and Community Assessment)
· FEMA update
o FEMA is no longer able to release information on individuals without release forms put together by individual agencies. Each agency must create its own release form following the guidelines put together by Larry Belmont and Nancy Turnbull.
§ Edwin Hung will draft a release form for the LALTRC, and this should suffice for each participating agency to gain access to an individual’s FEMA information.
· General updates
o Crisis Counseling is up and running with 30 additional workers. There will be a Crisis Counseling training session in Des Moines next week.
o FEMA deadline has been extended to September 27, 2008.
o Metro High School will be opening up July 11, 2008 as a goods distribution center.
o ECI Volunteer Reception center is located on 1700 B Ave NE. To volunteer, call 319.540.4810. Call 319.540.4815 if you need help.
o Visit lcnrc.org à flood 2008-àfunder’s chart (on right side bar) for a list of available funds and grants for agencies. Rockwell, Flood 2008, and Alliant have all posted available funds.
