The United Way, in cooperation with CAT, and Barrett Industries
has arranged for shipping via UPS/Overnite Transportation.
ALL monies goes through the United Way directly to UPS Freight.
UPS Freight is doing this for barely the cost of fuel, by letting
the pallets go through the system in the "excess" space of the
shipping hub system. The cost per pallet from Massachusetts to

an innovative humanitarian shipping system designed by Tim Barrett

kitchen cabinets, courtesy of the Boston Recycled Materials Resource
Center. And we are focusing on computers/office equipment for community groups, as well as focusing on sporting equipment for the FEMA camps.
Let's keep these kids occupied!
And thanks to Katie and Ann Brainard! They will be making it possible
to create a steady stream of these supplies to the gulf by raising $$$!
Yippee! Gotta love fundraisers!
PAINT:
We have pallets of assorted colors and finishes of paint and stain.
Many, many thanks to Jock Robey of Colorworks for 18 pallets of Ben
Moore paint and to Kate at Concord Lumber for pallets of paint and
sinks.
ALL financial donations go to fuel costs. Please make checks out to
United Way of Tri-County and mail to:

The United Way is a 501c3, thus allowing you the tax deduction.
The cost per pallet from Massachusetts to
anywhere in the gulf, for example, is $50/pallet. This is part of
an innovative humanitarian shipping system designed by Tim Barrett
of Barrett Industries. Please give these folks a BIG round of
applause.

• COATS and warm clothes for people who work outside ALSO FOR storm survivors in MIDWEST
--clean and in good condition
• computers, peripherals and office machines and supplies
--PCs capable of running Windows 98 or later
--Apples: iMacs, G3s and G4s
-- Printers, both laser and inkjet
--Scanners
--Copiers
--Fax machines
--Office supplies
***NOTE: We are also so seeking to organize sharing of computer parts by encouraging others to list their parts in our database. Call 978-369-4343 if you need help
• Paint and construction supplies that can fit, boxed, on 4x4 pallets
• Kitchenware and bedding
• Sports equipment of all types (kids in FEMA trailer parks need things to do)
• Books for EC lending library
We always need packing supplies and help, and transport to Methuen warehouse.
LOADS leaving soon:
Liberty City CDC--toys and sports equipment for after-school program, laptops
Hands On New Orleans--computers
-------
We help people gather donations and ship them to the gulf. $50/pallet for properly packed and labeled boxes from Methuen, Massachusetts (by New Hampshire) to anywhere in the gulf region. Less than $200/pallet from other locations that are serving hurricane victims from the West Coast. Less than $100/pallet from the MidWest.
We are currently focusing on RECYCLED BUILDING MATERIALS, including kitchen cabinets, courtesy of the Boston Recycled Materials Resource Center. And we are focusing on computers/office equipment for community groups, as well as focusing on sporting equipment for the FEMA camps. Let's keep these kids occupied!
And thanks to Katie and Ann Brainard! They will be making it possible to create a steady stream of these supplies to the gulf by raising $$$! Yippee! Gotta love fundraisers!
PAINT:
We have pallets of assorted colors and finishes of paint and stain. Many, many thanks to Jock Robey of Colorworks for 18 pallets of Ben Moore paint and to Kate at Concord Lumber for pallets of paint and sinks
ALL financial donations go to fuel costs. Please make checks out to United Way of Tri-County and mail to: Citizen Action Team, PO Box 2525, Acton, MA 01720. The United Way is a 501c3, thus allowing you the tax deduction. The United Way, in cooperation with CAT, and Barrett Industries has arranged for shipping via UPS/Overnite Transportation. ALL monies goes through the United Way directly to UPS Freight. UPS Freight is doing this for barely the cost of fuel, by letting the pallets go through the system in the "excess" space of the shipping hub system. The cost per pallet from Massachusetts to anywhere in the gulf, for example, is $50/pallet. This is part of an innovative humanitarian shipping system designed by Tim Barrett of Barrett Industries. Please give these folks a BIG round of applause.
If you want details about how your community group can use this program to ship your gathered donations, please contact us at 978 266 2778, or terra@citizenactionteam.org

And thanks for Katie and Ann Brainard! They will be making it possible to create a steady stream of these supplies to the gulf by raising $$$! Yippee! Gotta love fundraisers!
PAINT:
We have pallets of odd colored paint from Sherwin Williams, who when mixing sometimes isn't satisfied to sell the paint, but is happy to give it to a good cause. We also have tons of odd-shaped lumber.
PLYWOOD: We've got plywood, but no way to ship it. So we can ship 48"x48", which could be good for roofing. If you want it shorter than 48", let us know. We can cut to size, less than 48". And if you want, we can paint it for you, too.
LUMBER: We've got tons of this stuff, too. But again, until we've got a flatbed, it's 48" long at the most. 2x6s, 2x8s, 2x4s. Let us know.
We also are getting in older computers, that work fine, but just a bit slow. And some other stuff, like clothes and what not. We've been shipping this misc stuff to Emergency Communities in Arabi LA. If you want some, let us know. The recycled construction stuff is primarily going to Camp Coastal, Pass Christian, and Bilox. Let us know if you want some.
We are about to get a line on dry food. Let us know if you need that.
ALL donations got to fuel costs. Please give these folks a BIG round of applause. Because of them, we are that much closer to "1,000 HOMES IN 1,000 DAYS"!!!

FREE PAINT, LUMBER!!!
We help people gather donations and ship them via a shipping arrangement to the gulf from Massachusetts. $50/pallet for properly packed and labeled boxes. From Methuen, Massachusetts (by New Hampshire) to anywhere in the gulf region. $100 to other locations that are serving hurricane victims.
We are currently focusing on RECYCLED BUILDING MATERIALS, care of some wonderful contractors and private citezens in Massachusetts. AND FairFoods in Dorchester. Wow! They are diverting tons of construction materials to the gulf using CAT's shipping/database services. They've been doing this for decades. Check them out! www.fairfoods.org.
Please give these folks a BIG round of applause. Because of them, we are that much closer to "1,000 HOMES IN 1,000 DAYS"!!! -> 1,000 HOMES IN 1,000 DAYS

Terra 11/13: we decided to take out the "item" called "loads needing transport" and use ONLY "interstate transport" and "intrastate transport". The "loads needing transport" has confused too many people.
