notes: From Volunteer Match: Consciously Rebuilding and HM Social Services, Inc. are in the early stages of renovating 8 units to offer as affordable "green" supportive housing for those returning to the Greater New Orleans Area. We would like to recruit volunteers that can offer services to assist in creating formal environmental specifications for our contractors (engineering plans) so that we know the performance of the technologies that will save energy, water, etc. Engineers do not necessarily have to be on-site if out-of-state professionals are interested. We are also in need of construction services--roofing, electrical, plumbing, painting, etc. We appreciate any help that is offered, and services are tax-deductible. Consciously Rebuilding was created to provide services that address environmental, social, economical and infrastructural elements of building and rebuilding in a post-disaster region. In the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, our experiences in a post-disaster region exposed the parallelism of environmental, social, and economic issues shared by other regions. The communities we hope to serve starts with you. We will help communities that do not have a voice but a vision.
