mission: When Hurricane Katrina hit the U.S. Gulf Coast in August 2005, BFS Relief set out on a journey and a commitment to bring hope, restoration, and solution to meet the needs in the community of East Biloxi, Mississippi.
Today, BFS Relief continues in its commitment to focus on the unmet housing needs in East Biloxi. Our mission is to bring together organized resource and volunteer labor for the purpose of rehabilitating existing homes as well as building new homes where houses were completely destroyed.
Our organization is a community outreach to the elderly, the widowed, and single mothers. Each reconstruction and/or rebuilding project is case managed by a certified case manager, thereby working within the necessary guidelines to meet all the necessary housing needs. Our goal is to restore homes, lives and the strong sense of community in East Biloxi.
BFS Relief is compelled by the character of Christ to use our time, talent and financial resources for the sake of restoration, renewal and investment in the hope-filled future of Biloxi, Mississippi.

Compassion First (formerly BFS Relief) Departs From Biloxi, Mississippi
Following the dedication at the end of May 2008 of the 45th home reconstructed and the 148 homes remediated since Hurricane Katrina hit the U.S. Gulf Coast in 2005, we have closed our operation where we were blessed to have served for the past 3 years through the faithful work of our volunteers and partner organizations. As Compassion First departs from this region, we want to leave you two avenues for continued volunteer service and financial support to the Biloxi area. ->
