Mission: To improve the quality of life of all Rim Community mountain residents, especially low-income and disadvantaged individuals/families, those affected by disasters and/or unforeseen circumstances and to provide a model for future disasters. This is accomplished by (1) building a community of support, (2) educating the community, (3) participating in coalitions with other advocates and, (4) continuing to seek new resources and partnerships.

Plans are already being put into place to assist with recovery efforts once residents can return to the mountains following the Slide and Grass Valley Fires. Various Rim Mountain Community Churches, Service Clubs and many others will be working with Rebuilding Mountain Hearts & Lives to assist in any way possible, including shelter, clothing, counseling, resource support, clean-up, etc.

Overall the San Bernardino County fire region is very stable. This
organization is the primary facility for low-income folks to receive
food vouchers, utility bill assistance, rental assistance and they
have a very active and organized case management program. They are
well respected and the 'go-to' org for this area and assist year
round as well as for fire survivors in providing assistance and
referrals.

They have no needs at this time.

RMHL To Coordinate Disaster Resources

If you have been affected by the Grass Valley or Slide wildfres, RMHL would like to help you rebuild your lives. The staff of RMHL is currently working with government agencies, disaster resource providers (American Red Cross, Salvation Army, etc.), charitable foundations, local service organizations (Rotary, Sorptimist, etc.), local faith-based organizations, local realtors and non-profit organizations. The resources being asked for are food, clothing, shelter, school supplies, medical services, prescription refills and other needed items. In addition information is being gatherered on insurance claim processing, rebuilding and property taxes. A calendar will also be setup that includes a list of important dates as well as dates for important informational meetings.
