The most significant characteristic of Faith City, Inc. is reflected
in its name - Faith City. The venture was begun by faith and has been
operated by faith ever since. As with all projects, it began with a
vision.
1. The Family Lighthouse
The Family Lighthouse is a safe haven for homeless families and
single women. It can accommodate a maximum of 72 guests in 16 rooms.
Because of the constant need, we are currently expanding our
existing shelter with a 4,000 square foot building with 15 rooms.
Construction will be complete by June 2006. The Family Lighthouse
was designed to comfortably house fifty persons but often has as
many as seventy people under its roof. All meals are provided for
the guests living in the Shelter and all guests are encouraged to
attend one of our daily chapel services.
2. The Hope Program for Men and Women
The Hope Program for Men and Women is the most effective faith based
alcohol and drug recovery program in this area. Through a thorough
application process and careful assessment, we also receive inmates
that are released into this program by the TDCJ parole board. Many
have found that this atmosphere of loving, biblical training has
led to successful integration back into mainstream society. Hundreds
of lives have been transformed since 1951. Faith-based and licensed
chemical dependency counselor provides weekly counseling sessions.
Each Hope Program participant receives training in Bible studies,
computer skills, recovery, anger management, overcoming failure,
temptation, practical life skills and more.
3. Food Services
The Faith City Ministries cooking staff works hard every day. They
perform a number of tasks, which include meal preparation, cooking
and serving three meals a day. They also prepare emergency bags of
groceries for those in need of food. This service is called The Food
Box Ministry.
Faith City Ministries serves on average 325 to 340 meals per day.
They welcome all who walk through the doors of Faith City Ministries.
They feed all who are hungry. They give respect to all we feed.
4. Clothes Outreach
Clothing Outreach is one of the larger ministries provided by Faith
City Ministries. This ministry includes clothing for men, women and
children, and the distribution of household items such as kitchen
utensils, home furnishings, and furniture. The Clothing ministry is
staffed by Dackery and Hope Watson, who strive to make sure all guests
are provided with the necessities, and leave with the feeling that
they are loved.

3. Food Services
The Faith City Ministries cooking staff works hard every day. They perform a number of tasks, which include meal preparation, cooking and serving three meals a day. They also prepare emergency bags of groceries for those in need of food. This service is called The Food Box Ministry.
Raymond Gonzales, Director of Food Services, oversees the Food Programs at Faith City Ministries. His duties include menu planning, inventory control, training, good public relationship with all food donors, and most of all a servant to all. Their biggest challenge is food donations. They welcome all food donations; however, the larger needs are donations of poultry, pork, beef, and dairy products.
Faith City Ministries serves on average 325 to 340 meals per day. They welcome all who walk through the doors of Faith City Ministries. They feed all who are hungry. They give respect to all we feed.
4. Clothes Outreach
Clothing Outreach is one of the larger ministries provided by Faith City Ministries. This ministry includes clothing for men, women and children, and the distribution of household items such as kitchen utensils, home furnishings, and furniture. The Clothing ministry is staffed by Dackery and Hope Watson, who strive to make sure all guests are provided with the necessities, and leave with the feeling that they are loved.
