Mission: Save the Children believes every child deserves a future.
Our founder Eglantyne Jebb saw children dying of starvation and wracked with disease after the end of the First World War. So, in 1919, she launched the Save the Children Fund to raise much-needed funds to end children’s suffering across war-torn Europe.
Today, over 100 years later, we work in the United States and around the world to give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. When crisis strikes and children are most vulnerable, we are always among the first to respond and the last to leave. We do whatever it takes for children - every day and in times of crisis – transforming their lives and the future we share.
Our Values
At Save the Children, we live by five Core Values:
Accountability
Integrity
Ambition
Collaboration
Creativity
These Core Values drive our long-term strategies and short-term goals, and they underpin our mission to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and achieve immediate and lasting impact in their lives.
Save the Children is committed to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in our workplace as well as in the communities where we work.

Notes:
EMERGENCY ALERT
Today, too many children around the work are caught in the middle of crisis, have lost their homes and loved ones or are struggling to survive.
In places like Gaza, Ukraine and here at home in California, we’re scaling up our response to meet the incredible need, which includes reaching even more children and families through distributions, cash assistance, health services and safe spaces. But we can’t do it alone. Please, will you give today to support our work, every day and in times of crisis?

Children's Emergency Fund
Historic wildfires, including those engulfing Los Angeles County, are putting children at great risk.
With emergency supplies prepositioned, we ensure families have the essential items they need and work with local partners to help kids get back to learning as quickly as possible and protect children’s mental and psychosocial well-being.
As severe weather continues to impact children's lives, Save the Children is helping families in the United States prepare for and recover from disasters, including deadly fires. Your donation today can help save lives.
With your support, Save the Children is there before, during and after an emergency. Working together, we help communities become more resilient so that each time a crisis happens, they are stronger, more likely to survive, and recover more quickly. Your support of our Children's Emergency Fund today helps make this possible.
