Our operations are in full swing responding to the devastating earthquake in Haiti. Our ship Integrity is preparing to set sail within a few days and will be on it's way to Port-au-Prince with the first load of humanitarian aid. READY TO RESPOND
When a situation calls for Friend Ships services, we are uniquely set up to respond like none other!
Some disasters will occur for which Friend Ships help is
not appropriate, either because other response groups are
closer to the situation, others are more suited to respond
or because the help we offer is not needed in that particular
situation. We will not respond in those cases, but commit to
making the best use of donor support by responding when our
specific services are required and we feel led by God that
our work will be effective and blessed.

We were blessed by many other groups today and received donations of a wide variety of food. Our first guest team including three pastors from Louisiana arrived today and tomorrow will go to the home of a 90 year woman who needs help at her home. We also are scheduled to receive a large donation of meals ready to eat and drinking water.

notes: HOW YOU CAN HELP
VOLUNTEER: Join our team and help during times of need as a Disaster Response Volunteer. Individuals or church teams interested in helping our full time crew to respond and to be ready to work as an effective part of our team during disaster relief efforts (typically a two week commitment). Church teams are currently needed to respond to Ike in Tx.
To register online to volunteer please go to:

If you would like to help Friend Ships with a response to Hurricane Ike, we are in need of food, bottled water, personal care kits, diapers, paper products and fuel. You can assist in this effort by contributing funds or sending goods to:
1019 North First Avenue
Lake Charles, LA 70601
This is what Friend Ships is currently doing to response:
We have made heavy duty roofing tarp available to Louisiana victims of Hurricane Gustav. The Lake Charles Fire Department is delivering tarp to Houma Louisiana, one of the most effected areas.
We are sending financial support to an organization in Haiti that is providing food service to displaced victims of the storms.
We are trying to organize a shipment of heavy duty tarp material to be delivered to Cuba for victims of Hurricane Gustav.
We cannot take used clothing at this time.
===================================================
HELPING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
When a hurricane devastates a community, weather it be
on U.S. shores, in Central America or in the Caribbean,
Friend Ships is ready to respond with spiritual support,
food service, supply and distribution of commodities,
medical services, emergency radio broadcasting and
house-to-house care that includes installing temporary
roofing and removing fallen trees.

-> FROM THE WEBSITE UPDATED 10-13-08:
Current needs of base camp and outreach operations:
Cleaning products, bleach, paper towels, toilet tissue, disposable cups, dish soap, hand sanitizer, canned fruits and vegetables, red beans, soup base, produce, butter, oil, eggs, coffee, condiments, cereal, breads, plastic cutlery, chain saws, generators, and hand tools.
Galveston, Texas - Monday, October 13th:
We resumed providing meals to the Galveston community and were also able to add chiropractic services. We served 1200 meals and as always, the Billy Graham Chaplains mingled through the crowd, ministering to the guests.
Galveston, Texas - Monday, October 11th:
We are still in need of funds and of church teams so our crew can cut back their 16 hour schedule and so that we have people to go out to homes and help the elderly, single moms and others make their homes livable again.

Friend Ships is supported primarily by private individuals, church and corporate donors. All those who join Friend Ships, serve as full time volunteers. No one receives a salary. As we work together to provide millions of dollars worth of food and supplies to those in need each and every year, corporations provide critical products or services, free of charge, or give us their first-rate products to deliver to victims of disaster, war or poverty. Sometimes they even give us ships! Trucking companies, airlines and railroads provide free transportation for donated goods. Seaports waive all fees so that our ships may visit their countries. Governments allow us to have the free use of buildings, equipment and ship berths so that our operations may flourish.

“Friend Ships’ role has returned to supporting other faith based groups in their roles. We are not directly working with the public now, but are behind the scenes, supporting other groups (churches, food banks, etc.) to do their tasks.”
-> HELPING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
When a hurricane devastates a community, weather it be on U.S. shores, in Central America or in the Caribbean, Friend Ships is ready to respond with spiritual support, food service, supply and distribution of commodities, medical services, emergency radio broadcasting and house-to-house care that includes installing temporary roofing and removing fallen trees.
READY TO RESPOND
